Quadra Island is located at the northern end of Georgia Straight, 200 kms northwest of Vancouver. 35kms in length and 9kms at its widest point, Quadra Island is the largest of the Northern Gulf or Discovery Islands. With a population of approximately 2,700 people year-round, the majority reside in the southern half of the island in the communities of Quathiaski Cove and Heriot Bay.
Through the sunnier months the population grows as tourists and seasonal residents take advantage of all that the island has to offer. The services available on Quadra Island defy most smaller communities. With a strong commitment to consume locally, in both communities we have thriving grocery stores with Government Liquor outlets; Canada Post Offices; and a variety of cafes, pubs, restaurants, galleries, gift and specialty shops. In Quathiaski Cove you will find our Community Centre, Elementary School, full service Credit Union, building supply outlet and gas station. Most healthcare needs can be met with two medical clinics, dental office, chiropractor office, pharmacy, and 24-hour emergency services. While many needs are met locally, a quick 12 minute ferry crossing Discovery Passage from Quathiaski Cove brings you to Campbell River, where you will find all of the amenities of a small city
